  16. Voice-capable modems designed by AT&T Microelectronics (now Lucent
  17. Technologies) report distinctive ring information according to IS-101
  18. (DRON=, DROF= format).  Such modems are in Compaq Presario and some
  19. AST Research PCs.  Boca Research sells a Windows-only version.

  21. Note that the distinctive ring feature is implemented in the controller
  22. software, not the DSP.  So our customers who use the Lucent
  23. Technologies data pump with their own controller software may or may
  24. not report distinctive ring -- you'll need to ask them.
